The 2016 Wooden Legacy tournament welcomes the undefeated Portland Pilots and #14 UCLA Bruins on Thanksgiving Day.

Coming into the tournament, the Portland Pilots are coming off a three-game winning streak. Their last outing on Friday was a 98-52 barn burner against Lewis & Clark. Eleven members of the Pilots scored, and six were in double figures, while Ray Barreno came out and shot a career high 14 points with 15 rebounds.

The Pilots were doing so well that they were up 52 points in the second half, which allowed first year Pilots coach Terry Porter to rest his starters and play the rest of his bench. Portland is ranked No. 5 in the nation with defensive rebounding (37) and No. 8 in free throw percentage (.822).

UCLA is continuing its winning ways after a huge win against Long Beach State that saw the team win its third 100+ point game in four attempts: They beat Pacific 119-80, Cal State Northridge 102-87, and Long Beach State 114-77. They beat San Diego by 20 points, 88-68. UCLA is averaging 105.8 points per game, and TJ Leaf is leading the team in scoring with an average of 20.3 points per game. Lonzo Ball, one of the other talented freshmen, is averaging 16.3 points and 6.3 rebounds.

The last time these two teams met at the Wooden Legacy, the tournament was known as the 76 Classic. Portland stunned UCLA with a 74-47 win and then knocked out Minnesota to reach the title game before falling to West Virginia.
