Tennessee running back Alvin Kamara is absurd at times as one of the SEC’s best players, and on Saturday night against in-state rival Vanderbilt, he proved just how insane he can be.

Tennessee hasn’t had the season they were looking for after such a promising start this year, but one thing’s that’s been positive is running back Alvin Kamara.

Kamara is one of the best tailbacks in the Southeastern Conference and one of the best in the country. (And that was with Jalen Hurd on the roster, too.)

That label was on full display on Saturday night as the Volunteers took on in-state rival Vanderbilt on the road.

There should be a warning label on this run from Kamara off a Josh Dobbs pass because it’s ridiculous.

He’s quite good. And strong.

The run from Kamara gave Tennessee a 14-7 lead, which the Vols have tacked on another touchdown to give them a 21-7 lead early on Saturday night.

Kamara’s catch-and-run gave Dobbs his first touchdown of the night, and continued his 9-for-9 passing night with over 130 yards already against the Commodores.

As for Kamara, the nutty touchdown above was the second of his three (!) touchdowns already against Vandy. Yeah, he’s pretty good.

With a win, Tennessee wins nine games in a season with extremely high expectations, but it will feel like a bit of a letdown. The hope for those in Knoxville (and the areas surrounding the school) was that the Vols could finally reach the SEC Championship Game again and compete for a College Football Playoff spot this season.

That didn’t happen — plus the weird Jalen Hurd situation that resulted in him transferring — but luckily for Tennessee fans, Alvin Kamara is on the case and making those shortcomings not hurt so much.
