A look at the latest College Football Playoff rankings as we head into the championship games this coming weekend

As sad as it is to say, the 2016 college football season is coming to a close. This weekend, there will be a plethora of conference championship games on the slate before we hit the bowl season. Before we get to those ever-important title games this weekend, though, we need to have a look at the latest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings.

Last week, the rankings from No. 1 to No. 4 looked like this: Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and Clemson. However, there may be a shakeup in this order on Tuesday night.

While Alabama and Clemson cruised to easy wins in Week 13, the matchup that everyone was waiting for was the latest installment of “The Game,” as No. 2 Ohio State took on No. 3 Michigan. It was one of the more entertaining editions of the rivalry that we have ever seen, with the Buckeyes coming out on top in overtime, 30-27. So, really, the question heading into Tuesday night is just how far the Wolverines will fall, especially after that not only lost by a close margin but took it to Ohio State for a lot of the game. Is there even the slightest chance that the committee could still regard Jim Harbaugh and his team as one of the top four teams in the nation?
