High Salary PG

Giannis Atetokounmpo-Milwaukee Bucks (9,800): “The Alphabet” is one of my favorite star players tonight on a points-per dollar basis. The do-everything combo-guard has at least 45 fantasy points in four straight and seven of his last eight. He has three double-doubles in his last four games and is coming off a solid 29-11-2 for 45.75 which is an impressive total when you remember that it came against the Spurs. Tonight, he gets a good matchup against the Blazers who tend to get into shootouts and run a little small in the backcourt.

Chris Paul-Los Angeles Clippers (8,800): Of all the other top-shelf PG options tonight, I like CP3 the most. He has posted at least 39 fantasy points in each of his last four and was just one assist short of having a double-double in each of those contests. He has been playing relatively reduced minutes in blowouts all season, but when he’s been asked to step up, he has done just that. For example, last Tuesday he had a triple-double against the Nets with 26-10-13 (points-rebounds-assists) for 68.5 fantasy points. While the Warriors could definitely blow the Clippers out, Paul should be able to produce good fantasy points for as long as he’s on the floor. The Warriors have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG this season and Paul and the Clippers should be fired up to show their hot start is no fluke as they get their first shot at the Warriors this season.

Eric Bledsoe-Phoenix Suns (7,400): The Suns as a whole have struggled for much of the season, but they’ve gotten good play from their PG Eric Bledsoe who has been pretty healthy so far this year. Tonight, he and the Suns come home to finish their bakc-to-back after losing on the road in Utah last night. Bledsoe only played 25 minutes in that game finishing with 14-6-2 for 25 fantasy points. He had over 50 fantasy points in three of his four games before that, though, so he should set up to bounce back tonight against the Pacers. When the Suns played Indiana in the middle of November, Bledsoe was limited to just 13 minutes, but I expect him to log at least 30 minutes tonight and be a solid play at this price.

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (7,300): Dragic has had to step up for the Heat with all their injuries over the past few weeks. He gets a ton of usage as he carries the offense, and he has at least 41 fantasy points in four of his five games since returning from his own injury in the middle of November. Dragic did log 40 minutes last night finishing with 48 fantasy points on 29-4-7 with a pair of steals. The Heat get a great matchup tonight for Dragic as they face Atlanta who is giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG. Dragic should be able to attack and produce if he remains such a huge focal point for the Heat attack. The only reason he isn’t a five-star selection is that he did play such heavy minutes and workload last night.∗∗

Jeff Teague-Indiana Pacers (6,400): On the opposite side of the Suns-Pacers matchup from Eric Bledsoe, Teague its a good chance to go up against the Suns who are allowing the seventh-most fantasy points per game to opposing PG so far this season. Teague’s numbers have been down a bit since Paul George returned, but he still has at least 25 fantasy points in 12 straight and has a high floor in a matchup that gives him a decent ceiling tonight.
