After Deshaun Watson finished as the Heisman Trophy runner-up for the second-straight year, Clemson released a touching thank you video for the quarterback.

The 2016 Heisman Trophy was presented on Saturday night and, for the second-straight year, Clemson Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson was among the finalists. Also for the second consecutive year, Watson finished as the runner-up. In 2015, he finished miles behind the winner, Derrick Henry. He increased his vote total a great deal in 2016, but still fell short of Lamar Jackson.

Now Watson is done at Clemson, having graduated and being graded as one of the top-two quarterbacks for the 2017 NFL Draft. This time next season, he’ll be cashing paychecks for a team that thinks he’ll be the franchise quarterback. If you ask anyone in Clemson, SC, they’d agree that he can lead any team to new heights.

Watson has become an icon at Clemson while he was still playing. The heights that he’s taken the program to in addition to the obvious success that he’s had are near unprecedented. And no one is more aware of this than the school itself. So after Watson finished second once again, the program released a video featuring fans thanking him for all he’s done for the Tigers.

The result is fantastic:

As far as thank you videos go, that one is up there with the best of them. Not only does it feature a Tajh Boyd (!!!) cameo, but the young boy at the end saying that Watson is his hero really hits home.

Watson has some work to do before he’s officially done at Clemson as the Tigers will compete in the College Football Playoff. However, his impact on the school and the fans have already been made. He’s one of the greatest players in the history of the program. So a gesture like this is entirely deserved.
