Seahawks at Packers: Highlights, score and recap
By John Buhler
The Green Bay Packers manhandled the Seattle Seahawks, 38-10 on Sunday evening in Lambeau Field. Green Bay improves to 7-6 on the year, while Seattle sinks to 8-4-1 on the season.
The Packers dominated the Seahawks in the first half of their Week 14 game at Lambeau Field. Green Bay used its strong home-field advantage in cold-weather games to take a 21-3 lead into halftime on Seattle.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson struggled in the cold, completing only 50 percent of his passes for 90 yards and two interceptions. His counterpart, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, would thrive in the frigid conditions by completing 80 percent of his passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns.
Wilson continued his atrocious game in Green Bay by throwing three more picks in the second half at Lambeau. Rodgers played tight ball until later giving way to his backup Brett Hundley to ice the game in the fourth quarter.
This was one of those games where it was won before kickoff. Green Bay just wanted it more and Seattle wanted no part of this cold-weather game. With this win, Green Bay keeps pace with the 9-4 Detroit Lions in the NFC North race. The Packers are tied for second place in the NFC North with the Minnesota Vikings, who beat the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the afternoon.
For Seattle, the Seahawks have no surrendered their lead on the No. 2 seed in the NFC Playoff picture. The Lions are now in position to get a first-round bye with the NFC-best Dallas Cowboys. Seattle is now only a half a game ahead of the Atlanta Falcons (8-5) for third place in the NFC.
Three Stars
- Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers was brilliant in the cold. He completed 18 of 23 passes for 246 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
- Damarious Randall: Randall had a great game in the Packers defense. He had five tackles, three solo, and two picks of Wilson for 47 interception yards.
- Davante Adams: Adams made the most of his touches on Sunday. He had four catches for 104 yards and a touchdown reception.
