Week 14 of the NFL brought another loss for the Los Angeles Rams, and on Monday, they fired head coach Jeff Fisher after a 4-9 start to the season.
As it turns out, that contract extension Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher got last week was basically a severance package, as the organization gave him his walking papers on Monday. Fisher actually signed the extension before the season, but it was not announced until Dec. 4. The veteran coach went 31-45-1 during his time with the Rams, and his last game might have been his worst.
The Rams were blasted by the Atlanta Falcons at home this past weekend, and with the loss, Fisher tied Dan Reeves (165) as the two head coaches with the most losses in their coaching careers. John Fassel was named interim coach for the rest of the season, as the son of former NFL head coach Jim Fassel will now take over the 4-9 team. Fassel has been with the organization for five years.
Good news for the Miami Dolphins as quarterback Ryan Tannehill does not have a torn ACL. Tests revealed that he sprained his MCL and ACL during the team’s victory against the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend, and will not need surgery. The team will take the injury on a week-to-week basis, but there is a real possibility he could be back by Week 17. The Dolphins have won seven of their last eight games, and Tannehill was playing the best football of his career.
Is there a quarterback controversy brewing in Dallas? If you were on Twitter Sunday night you must have thought so, as Cowboys fans took to the social media platform to blast the quarterback who led them to an 11-2 record this season.

Rookie Dak Prescott has earned the job given to him when Tony Romo broke his back in the preseason, and will still lead the team even after a couple of subpar games. The Cowboys saw their 11-game win streak end on Sunday night, as the New York Giants beat them for the second time this season.
The differences between Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel are aplenty, but that does not mean that one cannot help the other. While Carr has blossomed into one of the best quarterbacks in the league since being drafted back in 2014, Manziel has seen his professional career go down the toilet, thanks to bad play on the field and bad decisions off of it. Carr said he would like to help Manziel, and it appears Johnny Football is on board.

Finally, the Cincinnati Bengals may get their star wide receiver back this weekend, as A.J. Green has been cleared for practice. Green injured his hamstring in the team’s Week 11 loss to the Buffalo Bills, and has been out ever since.
If Green can get back onto the field, he could be in line for some history, as only 36 more receiving yards would give him 1,000 for the season. With a sixth 1000-yard season to start his career, Green would tie Randy Moss as the only two players to accomplish the feat.
