Dolphins at Jets: Game preview, odds, prediction
By John Buhler
The New York Jets will host the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night in Week 15. Here is the game preview, the betting odds and a final score prediction.
Week 15 will bring us the first Saturday night game of the 2016 NFL season. On Saturday, Dec. 17, the New York Jets (4-9) will host their AFC East rivals, the Miami Dolphins (8-5) for an 8:25 p.m. ET kickoff at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The NFL Network will have the prime time telecast.
Miami is fighting to make the AFC Playoffs as a wild card team. The Dolphins have three weeks to get to presumably 10-6 and get the No. 6 seed in the AFC. However, they will have to do so with a backup quarterback. Ryan Tannehill might be out for the season with ligament damage to his knee. That means it’s up to career backup Matt Moore to guide the Dolphins into the 2016 AFC Playoffs.
New York has had a miserable 2016 NFL season. After going 10-6 the year before and barely missing the 2015 AFC Playoffs, the Jets have plummeted to become one of the worst teams in football. The quarterback position has been a disaster and so has the secondary. Could second-year head coach Todd Bowles be on the hot seat?

If Miami had a healthy Tannehill, the Dolphins would win this game easily, despite not having had great success against rival New York in recent years. Moore will not be a cataclysmic drop-off at the quarterback position for Miami, but the line is closer because of his insertion into the starting lineup.

Since Moore has been with the Dolphins for a while now, look for him to channel everything he’s got to beat the rival Jets in a tight, low-scoring game. Miami has everything to play for in an emotional game. New York is listless. Swallow the points to take Miami and the under.
