LeBron James doesn’t believe there’s enough in common to compare him to Michael Jordan

For years, LeBron James has had to face comparisons to the legendary Michael Jordan, who of course etched his name in history as a member of the Chicago Bulls. To many, the comparison is ideal: they both wear number 23 and display incredible athleticism; they both had to max out their talents and were expected to place the team on their backs; lastly, they both faced criticism at one point in their careers for not getting the job done.

James, though admittedly was adamant on chasing the ghost in Chicago, spoke on the comparisons between he and Jordan. A question was asked on whether James studied how Jordan adapted his game in his later years. Here’s how James answered;

“No, I haven’t,” James told reporters, “because our games are so different. He was much more of a scorer. And at that point, did a lot of post work at that point in time. But our games are just different. His body is different. My body is different than his. So it’s just, you recognize the dominance that someone had at that age. At that age, you recognize the dominance. But there’s no similarities in our game at all.”

To emphasize the point, James further stated how his fadeaway jumper was much different from Jordan’s. because Jordan’s had more lift in his shot.

“No, it’s different,” James said. “He had much more lift in his fadeaway than mine. That was definitely a go-to move of his, but nah. Our games are completely different.”

At this point in his career, James perhaps has grown tiresome speaking about Jordan. While many will say he brings the attention on himself, it also doesn’t help both are incredibly accomplished basketball players. Unluckily for James, though, he will probably field questions like this for the remainder of his career.
