Alabama Crimson Tide running back Bo Scarbrough devastates the Washington Huskies defense on this jaw-dropping 68-yard touchdown run to ruin Washington.

The Washington Huskies hung around for most of the 2016 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl with the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff. That was until Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough destroyed Washington’s livelihood on this thunderous 68-yard touchdown run.

This was Scarbrough’s second touchdown run of the day. The first reminded us of 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry. The second had Scarbrough going full-blown Beast Mode in channeling his inner Marshawn Lynch.

It was the play that broke Washington’s back. The second Scarbrough pay dirt put the Crimson Tide up 24-7 after the made Adam Griffith PAT in the fourth quarter. Washington simply ran out of time to keep pace with Alabama. It was only a matter of time before the Tide would break off a huge offensive play to rattle the Washington defense.

Scarbrough had been the No. 2 back in the Alabama running corps this season behind Damien Harris. At times, even wide receiver ArDarius Stewart would get more touches in the Alabama backfield than Scarbrough.

His talent has always been there, but his opportunities to run all over the opposition have been fleeting. One could argue that Saban was saving Scarbrough for the College Football Playoff. His bruising running style would be very difficult for Washington, and either the Clemson Tigers or the Ohio State Buckeyes to handle.

Alabama needed a big day from its running backs, as true freshman Jalen Hurts had his worst game as a collegiate. He struggled all afternoon with the Washington pass rush. When all else fails, Alabama can still lean on its strong running game. Scarbrough will be the reason that Alabama gets to play for a chance at a second consecutive national title.
