Full match results and highlights from NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11 on Jan. 4 from the Tokyo Dome.

The NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11 promises to be one of the biggest professional wrestling events of the 2017 calendar year. Annually, the Jan. 4 Tokyo Dome show for New Japan Pro Wrestling is the can’t-miss event of the year. After all, last year we had Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles fighting before their WWE departures—and that wasn’t even the main event. Now with Kenny Omega and Kazuchika in the main event of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11, this year’s installment could be even better.

Omega will challenge Okada for the famed IWGP Heavyweight Championship on Wednesday. These two have a long-standing rivalry that boiled for most of 2016. Now it all be settled on the biggest show of the year. However great the main event supposes to be, though, it’s just the ending of what should be a stacked card.

That card includes a massive IWGP Intercontinental Championship match between champion Tetsuya Naito and challenger Hiroshi Tanahashi. The latter is one of the best-known stars in the sport—often referred to as Japanese John Cena among fans—and is facing arguably the best heel in the promotion. Not to mention, these are also two insanely talented workers.

Also on the card is the rest of the Bullet Club with The Young Bucks and the debuting Cody (Rhodes) on the card. The card also features will be guys like Ricochet, Katsuyori Shibata, and Will Ospreay. There will too be a ROH World Championship match with Kyle O’Reilly defending the belt against Bullet Club’s Adam Cole.

As far as great wrestling goes, it doesn’t get any better than NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 11 and the Jan. 4 Tokyo Dome show. Even WrestleMania is put to shame by the overall product quite consistently. That was certainly the case on Wednesday for the 2017 edition. This show was everything and more. Even after a slow-ish star, you can’t argue with finishing up with two potential five-star matches. Naito-Tanahashi and Okada-Omega most definitely delivered that.
