Iowa State Cyclones kicker Cole Netten straight up torched all of his Twitter naysayers after being All-Big 12 in 2016 with this awesome video.

The Iowa State Cyclones have been a bottom feeder in Big 12 football for some time. Though Iowa State finished 3-9 (2-7) in 2016, the Cyclones did have the best kicker in the Big 12 in senior Cole Netten.

Netten had his best year in 2016, making 16 of 17 field goals and 35 of 37 extra points to be All-Big 12. While he had a great senior season, people were straight up mean to this kid the three previous years. Netten completely burnt his Twitter haters to a crisp with this hilarious compilation video.

Netten would collect all of his hate tweets from the 2013 to 2015 seasons and put them in this awesome slideshow. He would say in his tweet to Twitter troll army, “Y’all made me work harder. Thank you.”

Being All-Big 12 as a kicker is a huge deal. Many of the best kickers in the NFL today have Big 12 roots, including Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens (Texas) and Matt Bryant of the Atlanta Falcons (Baylor).

The reason that getting All-Big 12 is massively significant is that the league is notorious for its spread up-tempo offenses. Faster pace means more scoring opportunities for both the offense and special teams.

Keep in mind that Netten played the bulk of his college games in Ames, Iowa at 11 a.m. ET local time. Iowa has a ton of wind that is always ripping through the state. Early kickoffs in college football can be hard for players to get into rhythm. One bad play in an early game can get a player in quicksand to spoil the rest of his afternoon with an overall poor performance.

Netten persevered to be the best kicker in his conference. While Twitter can be scorchingly negative, Netten was able to turn it into a positive. Maybe his strong 2016 NCAA season increases his NFL opportunities? He might be one missed field goal away from getting his shot professionally. Good job by Netten to put Twitter in its place.
