People’s Choice Awards 2017: Watch online

The People’s Choice Awards honors the best moments in pop culture, and we’ve got all the details you need to watch the ceremony online.

This year, Joel McHale hosts the People’s Choice Awards, a ceremony that honors the best in pop culture. This includes the most buzzworthy movies, television shows, music and even YouTube stars. Out of 64 categories, Captain America: Civil War earned the most nominations with seven total. Right behind the Marvel movie, Grey’s Anatomy earned a respectable five nominations in Favorite TV Show, Favorite TV – Drama, Favorite Dramatic Actor, and Favorite Dramatic Actress.

Also in the Favorite Dramatic Actress category, Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Viola Davis and Priyanka Chopra were nominated. That puts  4/5 non-white actresses in the category, which is pretty awesome. Further, Kevin Hart alone earned five nominations. Obviously, this has everything to do with the fact that the People’s Choice Awards are just that, the people’s choice. Instead of being controlled by a committee or the Academy, the general public controls the vote. Luckily, this keeps predominantly white Hollywood movies like La La Land from sweeping. Likewise, Atlanta has been nominated again and has the chance to bring home yet another award.

Other notable categories this year include CBS’s Favorite Digital Obsession and Favorite Comedic Collaboration. For Comedic Collaboration, Ellen DeGeneres earns her third nomination of the night. If she wins at least once, she’ll break the record for most People’s Choice Awards wins.
