Mr. Half-Man, Half-Amazing  – Vince Carter — showed he still has it last night with a flashy 360 layup.

Vince Carter will not rest or be content unless he can crush Toronto Raptor fans dreams one more time. No sir. The year or decade doesn’t matter. Vince will still be ending the Raptors hopes at age 90, returning out of retirement for the special occasion.

He has some time before he gets there, but if what Carter is showing us at the age of 40 is any indication, the NBA world had better watch out. Not only did the Memphis Grizzlies take home a big win last night, Carter gave the ultimate ‘miss me yet’ moment with a stunning 360 layup to remember on the eve of turning 40.

Age is clearly but a number for Vince Carter because he’s still doing stuff like this:

Just look at the smoothness, slicing and dicing that Raptor D like butter left out in the hot sun. Gliding past 25-year old shooting guard Terrence Ross with ease. Then when the final line of defense comes in with last hopes, VC says ‘no thank you’ and lays it home. Carter has had a fine season this year with the Grizzlies (now his third year with the team), his scoring and minutes are both up.  Simply put, Carter delivers when he’s on the floor. You never know when he’s gonna bust out a timely dunk, three pointer, or masterclass in 360 layups.

Let’s take a look again from the official NBA feed in real-time:

Look at the veteran ISO straight into a post-up, ready to adapt to the defense at will. This isn’t the NBA All-Star game where defense is lax until the last 2 minutes of the game. These are two highly competitive teams vying for a high playoff spot, and Carter still takes it home, prime style. The play occurred in the second quarter. Yet, considering the game was won by 2 points.

It might have been this 360 layup that ultimately brought the big win over the number 2-seeded team in the East. Thank you Vince Carter.
