The Pac-12 conference race has the Arizona Wildcats out in front but the Ducks, Bruins, Trojans and Bears aren’t going to make this easy.

After a relatively normal week in the conference, the Pac-12 turned insane late this past week, and we’ve seen a minor shakeup in the power rankings as Oregon looks to upend Arizona in a matchup of the two best teams in the conference. However, like every all the other conference power rankings it’s time we check in with the conference basement dwellers. You know them better as Oregon State.

Oregon State Beavers

Last week: 4-18 (0-9 Pac-12)
Last rank: 12

Another week, another winless week for the Beavers. Currently riding a nine-game losing streak and sitting at the bottom of the conference, the Beavers have been competitive in the last few games on the road against Utah and Colorado. We will see how they do this week hosting Arizona and Arizona State. With the Sun Devils appearing to start the beginning of a mid-season slide, this would be the perfect time for the Beavers to notch their first conference win of the season.  If Oregon State wants to make a run out of the cellar, they will have to improve on near nation lows in rebounding, assists and points.

Washington Huskies

Last week: 9-12 (2-7 Pac-12)
Last rank: 9

Losers of five out of their last six, including three in a row, Washington finds themselves tumbling near the bottom of the conference. Despite freshman Markelle Fultz putting on an all-conference effort, this midseason nose dive by the Huskies will get people buzzing about the job security of Lorenzo Romar. While Romar has been successful in his time coaching Washington, it’s clear that the Huskies’ NCAA Tournament drought may reach a sixth straight season. Add in the fact that teams like Oregon and USC have passed the Huskies in talent and success, Romar’s time in Seattle may be running out.
