While Barry works on getting Wally up to speed (literally), there’s a new meta-human villain coming for Joe and Iris.

Since The Flash came back from its midseason break, the team has been focused on changing the future. Yet this week, there’s reason to think that Barry Allen will want the future to be right for once.

Why? Because the villain who arrives in Central City in “Untouchable” puts the life of Iris West in danger. And if Iris is still alive in four months, that means she must make it through being touched by a meta with the power to accelerate the decomposition of the human body okay.

Then again, the whole premise of what Team Flash is doing right now is that the future can still be changed, so they can’t rely on that alone.

Here’s the official synopsis for season 3, episode 12 of The Flash, courtesy of The CW:

"Barry and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work together to bring down Clive Yorkin (guest star Matthew Kevin Anderson), a criminal meta-human who is methodically killing people by causing them to decompose at an accelerated rate. Joe becomes his next target but it’s Iris who is caught in the crossfire. The Flash mentors Kid Flash and begins to elevate the newer speedster’s training to another level."

Yorkin might be the most obscure Flash villain from the comics to date, making his first appearance back in 1979. Ominously, that version of Yorkin looked like he successfully killed Iris West, though it was actually Reverse-Flash who did the deed.

(And since this is comics we’re talking about, she got better.)

It’s great to see Barry isn’t on any ego stuff when it comes to preparing for the upcoming showdown with Savitar. His idea that Wally is going to be faster than him with enough training is a smart one, but I can’t be the only one worried that the way Wally got his speed could still come back to bite him and his teammates.

Next: Who is Black Flash?

On the positive side, that shouldn’t happen this week. It’s full speed ahead for the Flash, so be sure to catch “Untouchable” Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 8 p.m. and then join us back here at FanSided.com for our recap and lots more.
