We take a look at what happened in the main event of the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.

To close out the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, the match of the same name took place. John Cena defended the WWE Championship against Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin, the Miz, AJ Styles and Bray Wyatt. The winner would get Randy Orton, the 2017 Royal Rumble winner, at WrestleMania 33 for the belt.

Ambrose, Corbin, Miz and Wyatt were the first four out, so they went into the pods. AJ Styles and John Cena began the match. Cena starting in the ring was interesting, given that he’s the champion walking into this.

The crowd was red-hot for Cena and Styles, as they went head-to-head for a few minutes while testing out the reactions from the fans. These two then traded a few moves for near-falls, taking some brutal bumps along the way. Just as Cena went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, he paused as Ambrose entered to brawl with the leader of the Cenation.

Ambrose went off with plenty of offense to shake up the match. This included a flying elbow from the top of the chamber, landing on Cena.

Wyatt entered next and go to battle with Styles, who had already taken a big-time beating in this match. He fought with everyone involved, but things ended up turning toward the top of the chamber. Cena took a rough bump from the top of the pod and eventually led to Ambrose throwing Styles and Wyatt across the ring.

Corbin entered fifth and brawled with Ambrose until he and Wyatt fought with hard-hitting offense. He dominated and even hit End of Days on Cena and Styles.

Miz was the last one out. He became scared as Corbin stared him down, but a smart Ambrose rolled him up from behind and pinned him for the first elimination. This led to the Lone Wolf absolutely destroying Ambrose around the ring, smashing him into pods and hitting End of Days. Miz ended up running to make the pin. Corbin vs. Ambrose confirmed for WrestleMania 33?

The A-lister went on a great run for about three minutes, but one AA from Cena ended his night. That left him, Styles, and Wyatt as the last three.

The world witnessed a bad 10 Knuckle Shuffle from Cena, who was quickly hit with the Styles Clash. However, he kicked out at two. Styles then kicked out of Cena’s AA.

Suddenly, Wyatt hit Sister Abigail on Cena to eliminate him, meaning we were definitely getting a new WWE Champion. This left the Eater of Worlds and Styles to compete for the title.

Is it clear to say this was one of the best Elimination Chamber matches ever? Yes. This had all the highlight reel spots you’d expect, from the top of the pod moves to Corbin’s decimation of Ambrose and the hard-hitting wrestling going on in the ring. It felt like six different matches going on throughout the 30-plus minutes, which created some terrific moments.
