Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg spent the day speaking with Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban about how to be a successful leader.

Mark Zuckerberg may be the most iconic tech billionaire of his generation. While he did create Facebook, Zuckerberg is constantly looking towards the next big thing. He is keen on self-improvement.

As a part of his 50-state tour beginning with Alabama, Zuckerberg met with Alabama Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban to discuss the intricacies of being an outstanding leader.

Zuckerberg posted obviously on Facebook Tuesday, “We stopped by the University of Alabama to meet with Coach Saban. We talked about what it takes to build a world class football organization.”

A guy as smart as Zuckerberg is smart to point out that team-building comes in all varieties, so why not pick the brain of the mastermind by college football’s best dynasty.

Saban would tell AL.com about the meeting with Zuckerberg, “I just met with Mark Zuckerberg, the Facebook guy. He wanted to know about leadership and what do you do to affect people.”

It’s not often that two of the very best in their respective industries come together to learn from each other. Zuckerberg probably cares as much about football as Saban does about social media. However, they can unite over how to build successful enterprises.

Before Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama football was a mess. It was living in yesteryear, longing for the days of Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant in his houndstooth hat on the Denny Stadium sidelines.

If not for Zuckerberg being bored in his Harvard dorm room in 2003, how different would the internet be today? Do we even have social media to the extent we do know?

Overall, this was a really cool meeting between Saban and Zuckerberg. If Zuckerberg plans to travel to all 50 states, we can only speculate who he will run into along the way in his quest for knowledge.
