The launch trailer for Horizon: Zero Dawn is here. We’ve been waiting a long time for this one and the trailer highlights everything we’re excited about.

Developer Guerilla Games is leaving the Killzone series behind (for now). Their latest effort is a new action role-playing game, Horizon: Zero Dawn.

In development since 2011, the game is almost here. It was one of our most anticipated games of the year. From the trailers, the visuals are top-notch, the combat seems like a ton of fun and the setting is interesting.

This type of game is something that Guerilla Games hasn’t done before. The open world setting offers a ton of beneficial features. For example, a day-night cycle, a unique weather system, robotic dinosaurs and plenty of fights to discover and explore.

Killzone was a very different kind of series. We aren’t sure whether or not this new IP will spawn sequels. It would be nice to see it succeed, though. It’s shaping up to be one of the more intriguing games of the year. Early reviews suggest people love it so far.

Check out the launch trailer below:

The new trailer focuses mostly on the story the game will tell. With the humans going back to tribal living, one woman, Aloy, decides to venture out into this dangerous world.

As Aloy, you’ll have to take down these robotic dinosaur-like creatures and discover secrets that you were unaware of for a large portion of your life. It sounds like an interesting journey and we can’t wait to embark on it.

Next week is looking like a fantastic time for gamers. Not only is it the launch of the Nintendo Switch and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but Horizon: Zero Dawn will be available as well.

Next: Upcoming Marvel games will have original stories

Horizon: Zero Dawn launches on Feb. 28, 2017.
