Updated 2017 March Madness bracket: Gonzaga advances to Final Four

The Gonzaga Bulldogs defeated the Xavier Musketeers in the Elite Eight and finally punched their ticket to the Final Four for the first time.

History has officially been made for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. For the first time in the program’s history, the team is going to the Final Four. Facing off against Xavier, the Bulldogs knew they had to bring their best.

From the very beginning, it looked Gonzaga was in a zone that they could not miss. They were hitting three after three and getting great looks while Xavier struggled defensively. Starting 10-16 from three was a good sign that the Bulldogs were on their way to making history.

With the win, the Bulldogs will now move onto Arizona for the Final Four. They will await the winner of the SEC clash in the Elite Eight between the Florida Gators and South Carolina Gamecocks.

There aren’t very many feats in sports as tough as reaching the Final Four. Gonzaga has made several runs at it before, but they have fallen short each time. This time, they put their foot down and ran away with the game in the second half.
