Head coach Steve Kerr said star forward Kevin Durant is at least two weeks away from returning to action for the Golden State Warriors.

At first, it seemed apparent the Golden State Warriors were in desperate need of Kevin Durant. Durant, who was injured Feb. 28, was given a four-week timetable before he would be evaluated again.

Those four weeks have passed by, and head coach Steve Kerr has given his assessment of where Durant is health-wise.

As pointed out by James Herbert of CBSSports.com, it would be ideal for Durant to come back to the Warriors in the regular season. Coming back for the playoffs would become rough for Durant, as he would have to play in high-stakes competition without a proper warmup.

"If Durant comes back in exactly two weeks, then he could play April 8 against the New Orleans Pelicans, April 10 against the Utah Jazz and April 12 against the Los Angeles Lakers. Kerr said “at least” two weeks, though, and it’s too early to say when he’ll be able to fully participate in practice."

The Golden State Warriors have transitioned well as of late, winning six straight games, but Durant has proven to be the key to the Warriors’ high-powered offense.

However, this may be the point that LeBron James and others have been making about resting. Durant is a 10-year veteran, although he’s only 28. More rest days could have been a benefit to Durant and his health.

James has six “Did Not Play” marks so far this season, so the Cavs have made his health a priority. Although the Warriors obviously didn’t put this idea to fruition, it might be something to be to note in the future.
