Eagles rumors: Dalvin Cook on their radar

The Philadelphia Eagles seemed to be very interested in a stud running back prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft.
The NFL Draft is only a little over two weeks away and the city that is poised to host the event is throwing its name in the hat for one of the top running back prospects in the draft.
Former Florida State running back Dalvin Cook appeared on a local Philadelphia radio station 94 WIP as a featured guest on the Carlin and Reese show.
Cook expressed his interest in joining the Eagles and also told the hosts that the feeling was mutual.
"“Everything is going smooth,” Cook said. “They’ve been showing heavy interest in me and I loved the city when I went there. So everything is good.”"
The Eagles hold the 14th pick in the first round of the draft, but as of late according to multiple NFL insiders and draft analysts, his stock may have dropped him to the second round.
Given his poor combine performance, numerous shoulder surgeries and some off-field concerns, this might not come as much of a surprise to those paying close attention. Cook reiterated to the show, as he did at the NFL combine, that his past issues are behind him and that he’s become more mature as he’s gotten older.
"“I definitely think I matured,” says Cook. “Better decision-making, putting myself in the right positions not to make bad decisions.”"
The Eagles are in the market for a new work-horse back. Ryan Mathews is expected to be released when he’s medically cleared, Darren Sproles turns 34 in June and is a gadget back entering his final season, also the team has unproven Wendell Smallwood that they drafted in the fifth-round of last year’s draft.
Cook would be a welcome addition to their backfield and might be obtainable for the team in round two with their 43rd selection or if they wish to move up in the second to acquire him.
