Real Madrid face Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, April 18. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Real Madrid head back to the Santiago Bernabeu with a 2-1 lead over Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarterfinal ties. The two away goals could prove to be the difference for Madrid. To advance, the Bundesliga leaders will have to score at least two away goals.
In the first leg, Bayern opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Arturo Vidal headed home a corner. However, Vidal missed a penalty prior to the halftime whistle to give Bayern a two-goal lead. Just after halftime, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first of the game. In the 61st minute, Javi Martinez was sent off after picking up two yellow cards in quick succession. With Bayern down to 10 men, Real began to dominate, and Ronald scored his second of the game in the 77th minute.
In the first leg, Bayern were without striker Robert Lewandowski and center-back Mats Hummels. Lewandowski also missed Bayern’s game against Bayer Leverkusen on the weekend, but he could be back for Tuesday’s game. There are bigger question marks about Hummels’ availability. Madrid winger Gareth Bale could miss the second leg with a calf injury.
