San Antonio Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge did a royal flush on Memphis Grizzlies forward JaMychal Green.

The San Antonio Spurs are currently facing the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the NBA playoffs. The Spurs currently hold a 2-1 lead and are looking to return to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2014. LaMarcus Aldridge, a key piece added to the Spurs in 2015, has provided great perimeter play for the Spurs since he signed in free agency.

His shooting makes the Spurs a threat as his interior and exterior play has become something the Spurs rely upon. But tonight, let’s just say the Spurs weren’t ready for Aldridge to be this reliable. Aldridge never been a transition finisher, but on this play, finisher may be an understatement.

God bless you, JaMychal Green. No one likes to get dunked on. No one also likes to get dunked on by someone who will be 32 in three months. The play Aldridge appeared to bring life into the Spurs, who trailed a bulk of the game. Aldridge may not be the player he was in Portland, but he showed he still has life in those legs.

For the Spurs, plays like this will help carry them deep into the postseason. The NBA playoffs have become legendary for big time players stepping up in big-time situations. Aldridge’s dunk gave the team life; seeing their 6’11 power forward finish in transition gave them hope, too.

The Spurs are currently playing the Grizzlies on the road, in which winning games on the road is a tough draw regardless of seeding. Hopefully, Aldridge’s nasty dunk could help spark the Spurs to win tonight, which could parlay into a series win. For JaMychal Green, all I can say is God bless you, son.
