WWE had been building one of their best monsters in recent memory in Braun Strowman, but now he’ll be out for some time due to an elbow injury

Just a year ago, and maybe even less, if you would have told WWE fans that Braun Strowman would consistently be one of the best parts of RAW, they would’ve laughed at you. Yet that’s exactly what The Monster Among Men has become in recent months. He’s been a dominant force involved in crazy spots and generally dismantling any opponent put in front of him.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that fans will be treated to the vicious stylings of Braun Strowman for quite some time.

According to a report from Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet, Strowman has been dealing with an elbow injury that will require a minor procedure to repair. Strowman came out at WWE RAW in London on Monday in a sling for the pre-taped show (tape delayed for the United States, at least). This was, in fact, not a work and he’s actually injured. The recovery from the surgery should keep him out of the ring for 4-8 weeks, which was seemingly written off by Roman Reigns running him out of the ring on RAW.

While two months maximum isn’t necessarily a great span of time, the timing of it is quite unfortunate. Strowman’s build in recent months has put him in position to be a main event player for Great Balls of Fire and throughout the summer. This obviously throws a monkey wrench into those plans, but is most importantly disappointing for the man himself.

The improvement that Strowman has shown as a worker and character has been been astounding. So to see it about to pay off and then get taken away due to injury is just brutal. Who knows what WWE is going to do to make up for him being out, but chances are it won’t be as quality as what BRAUUUNNNN would’ve brought to the ring.
