Derek Carr has established himself as one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL, and he appears destined to be paid like one by the Oakland Raiders.

During his first three years in the NFL, Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has helped the franchise become relevant again. In 2016, Carr led his team to 12 wins, and had he not been injured in Week 16, the team could have made a serious run in the playoffs. With a contract looming, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie recently said he wants Carr to be a “Raider for his career,” and that is certain to come with a pretty hefty pricetag.

Staying with the Raiders, it appears they will definitely be playing in Las Vegas for the 2020 season. The team had their lease with the city approved on Thursday, clearing the way for them to break ground on their stadium this summer. Their new digs, a $1.9 billion indoor stadium, will feature natural grass, and will certainly be a main attraction once it opens.

Speaking of stadiums, it looks like the two Los Angeles franchises will be joining the Raiders in playing in their new digs in 2020. Originally expected to begin play in 2019, the Inglewood stadium that will play host to the Chargers and Rams has been delayed due to the incredible amount of rain the city has been getting. The delay may actually help both teams, as neither is ready to put a playoff-caliber team on the field yet.

Only one year after signing a $20 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, tight end Ladarius Green will be looking for a new team. The Steelers cut Green on Thursday, after only one year of ineffective play. The 26-year old earned only $6 million of the deal, which was supposed to be for four years. In his one season with the team, Green racked up a little over 300 yards, while scoring only once.

Finally, it appears the Buffalo Bills just cannot keep their wide receivers healthy. After dealing with former first round pick Sammy Watkins’ injury issues the past few seasons, it appears their latest wide receiver draft pick will head to the shelf. Zay Jones, who the team drafted in the second round out of East Carolina, sprained his knee this week, and is considered week-to-week.
