The college football recruiting landscape still has top-tier running backs available for the class of 2018.

These running back recruits will change the fortune of programs for the next three to four seasons. Whoever lands each of these players will automatically improve their team.

Here are the top five uncommitted running backs for the class of 2018.

No. 5 – Harold Joiner

The No. 5 running back left in the class of 2018 is Harold Joiner. He is a 6-foot-3, 218-pound recruit from Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama. 247Sports has Joiner listed as a four-star recruit who is the No. 221 player in the class of 2018 and the No. 6 player in the state of Alabama.

Joiner has been a hot recruit lately with scholarship offers from just about every big-time program. He currently holds 28 offers with the most recent being from Baylor, Georgia and Michigan State. The recruitment for Joiner has been narrowed down recently, though.

On May 14, 2017, Joiner decided to cut his list to just 12 programs he will be choosing from. Those 12 teams are Alabama, Auburn, Michigan State, UCLA, Tennessee, TCU, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Baylor, South Carolina and Texas. There isn’t a commitment date set yet as well.

Just purely looking at location, the assumption would be he is going to stay in the south. Alabama, LSU and Auburn all have to be up there in the lead. Those are the three teams 247Sports has in the lead as well.

Alabama doesn’t have much of a recruiting class right now and could always use more running back depth. Auburn has a running back signed but he is not nearly as talented as Joiner. LSU could also use another tailback as they just had Leonard Fournette go in the NFL Draft.

When Joiner is finished with his recruitment, he is likely to end up with the Auburn Tigers. Not many top tier recruits leave the state to go elsewhere, and Alabama will probably sign a higher rated running back. The nod goes to the Tigers on this talented recruit.
