Day 8 of the 2017 French Open is in the books. Let’s take a look to see how the men’s singles tournament shook out on Sunday, June 4 at Roland Garros.

While it has been mostly chalk in the men’s singles tournament of the 2017 French Open, there was one big upset that occurred in Stade Roland Garros on Sunday, June 4 during the fourth round. No. 5 Milos Raonic had been playing out of his mind in the previous rounds on clay, but could not handle No. 20 Pablo Carreno Busta. Carreno Busta needed five sets to knock off the promising Canadian player to advance.

Day 8 at Roland Garros saw men’s tennis superstars Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal also advance. Nadal skated by No. 17 Roberto Bautista Agut in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Why is the King of Clay the No. 4 player in this tournament again?

Djokovic had the last match of the day in the men’s singles tournament. He handled No. 19 Albert Ramos-Vinolas in three sets, 7(7)-6(5), 6-1, 6-3. Djokovic has had sets where he has struggled, but looks to be in line to win his second straight French Open and his second title at Roland Garros.

Here are the results from the men’s singles tournament at Stade Roland Garros on Sunday, June 4.

Seeing No. 5 Raonic fall is the biggest loss at Roland Garros for the men. Obviously, that doesn’t account for Roger Federer opting to not play in the tournament. However, all top-four seeds in No. 1 Andy Murray, No. 2 Djokovic, No. 3 Stan Wawrinka and No. 4 Nadal all remain. Expect a few clash of the titans involving these four in the second week at Roland Garros.
