The Warriors defeated the Cavaliers in five games to capture their second championship in three years. Check out how fans reacted on Twitter.

The NBA Finals did not turn out to be a slug fest. The latest installment in this trilogy was more like an early round T.K.O. The Warriors got revenge on the Cavaliers after last year’s crushing Finals collapse. Kevin Durant put on a spectacular performance in this series and won Finals MVP. Durant averaged 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. He also shot 56 percent from the field, 47 percent from distance, and 93 percent from the free-throw line.

The Cavaliers displayed a lot of pride after going down 3-0. But the hole was too deep. Ultimately, they lacked the firepower to combat Golden State’s attack. LeBron James was magnificent per usual, but his career Finals record slips to 3-5 with the loss. Considering the Warriors’ playoff dominance, you should not be surprised if they open as favorites to repeat next season.
