Joel Embiid’s sent a tweet Saturday that has fans wondering whether the 76ers will trade up to draft Markelle Fultz.

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid seemed to confirm what many have been speculating recently. The Sixers are interested in trading up for Markelle Fultz. Embiid made his feelings about Fultz’s future known on Twitter Saturday afternoon, sending out a picture of himself and Dario Saric in front of a locker labeled with Fultz’s name. The player was scheduled to practice with the team that same day, according to CNSPhilly.com.

Widespread rumors indicate the 76ers are considering trading for the Boston Celtics top overall draft pick in order to acquire the 6-foot-4 point guard out of the University of Washington via DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Maryland. In exchange, the Celtics would get at a minimum the third overall pick from the Sixers, according to Yahoo! Sports. In addition to Embiid’s tweet, Fultz’s visit to the 76ers on Saturday seems to indicate the team is very serious about making this deal.

Fultz has generated a lot of media attention for both his talent on the court and his down-to-earth demeanor off it. “He wasn’t hyped up as some prodigy or put on a pedestal. And I think that is why he’s going to be a star in the NBA, because he knows what it is like to be at the bottom,” said Corey McCrae, a former Dematha assistant coach via the Boston Globe. The 19-year-old only played one season at the University of Washington, where he averaged 23 points per game to go along with 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds.
