LaVar Ball will return to WWE if David Otunga has anything to say about it.

LaVar Ball failed to boost WWE RAW ratings in any significant way, but he had a major impact in the WWE Universe.

The latest man to step forward is retired wrestler and current sometimes announcer David Otunga, who is pushing for a match with LaVar. Here’s what Otunga told TMZ when asked about LaVar’s segment on RAW:

Good for Otunga. He may as well shoot his shot since he’s barely heard on the announce team. At least he found LaVar’s antics entertaining and wasn’t embarrassed by the Big Baller head honcho. It’s really nice of him that he’d be willing to give up his time on a movie set to do a segment with an outside star. David out here making sacrifices.

Do you think Vince McMahon even knows who Otunga is anymore?

Otunga is a former tag team champion, but hasn’t wrestled since 2015. His last televised wrestling match was the 2014 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 30. He’s been MIA from RAW for weeks now, focusing on his acting career.

The former Nexus member is dating Jennifer Hudson, which is why WWE keeps him around, but if LaVar were to agree to an actual match, one would think they would go with a bigger star than David Otunga. Based on LaVar’s appearance on RAW, a match with The Miz would make the most sense. Just keep Curtis Axel away from him.

I’d say that it’s unlikely for LaVar to appear on WWE television again, but he’s still a big star in the sports entertainment world. And we know how much WWE loves big stars from the outside. LaMelo did his family no favors by using inappropriate language that forced WWE to issue an apology. And LaVar didn’t exactly provide a ratings spike that the company hoped for.

It’s unlikely that this match comes to fruition, but Otunga can at least keep dreaming while cashing checks for doing nothing.
