Pittsburgh Steelers: Martavis Bryant wants a man-to-man meeting with Ben Roethlisberger
Before Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Martavis Bryant take to the air this season but they need to clear it first.
With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger pulling the trigger and wide receivers such as Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Eli Rogers, Sammie Coates at his disposal, the passing attack of the Pittsburgh Steelers is as dangerous and thrilling as any in the game.
Bryant is set to return this season after serving a one-year suspension. There are high hopes for Todd Haley’s attack and Mike Tomlin’s club overall. But apparently, there’s a bit of an issue that needs a little clarity when it comes to the young wideout.

A year ago, Roethlisberger was critical of Bryant regarding the one-year suspension (he missed the first 4 games of 2015 for the same reason). Two months ago, in an interview with Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he reiterated that the former Clemson star has some work to do.
“It’s more than just me,” Roethlisberger told Cook. “He has to win back everybody’s trust…”
Recently, Bryant had some thoughts about last year’s comments from his quarterback (via Dan Graziano of ESPN):
"I mean, at that time, I was going through a lot of stuff. I wasn’t really even worried about his opinion at that time, because there was just a lot that was going on. He’s my brother. I love him. But at the same time, I have my own family outside of football. I have my own problems. I’m not just going to come up to you and open up to you about what’s going on with my personal life. That’s not how I am. We just didn’t see eye-to-eye on that, but as far as right now, everything’s great."
Still, Bryant feels that he and Roethlisberger need to chat.
“We should have a man-to-man,” Bryant told Graziano this week. “Some of the things he put out there about me, I kind of didn’t agree with how he did it. So I want to sit down and hear his own opinion, man-to-man, about why he did that.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers need all the help they can get if they are to overcome the New England Patriots in the AFC. In 21 regular-season games, Martavis Bryant has averaged 17.3 yards per reception via 76 catches (1,314 yards). He’s scored 14 touchdowns through the air. He’s also made his presence felt as a runner. Now he and Ben Roethlisberger need to get back on the same page, both on and off the field.
