Donald Trump fired his Chief of Staff on Friday, and well, the manner in which he did it brought back some pretty fun Lane Kiffin memories.

A day is not a complete day until the President of the United States, Donald Trump, gets the newswire all riled up, and Friday he did that in a big way. Following some recent controversy that we won’t get into because we’re not a politics blog, Trump fired his White House Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus and replaced him.

Since we are in fact not a political blog, you’re probably wondering why this is important to mention here at all. Well you see, the manner in which Trump let Priebus know he was relieved of his duties drew some flashbacks to one of the most memorable college football firing moments ever.

It appears as if Trump pulled the trigger on the firing while Priebus was on the Air Force base tarmac. You know, basically the same way the USC Trojans told Lane Kiffin he was out the door back in 2013 following an embarrassing loss to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Immediately, college football fans all over Twitter picked up on the similarity and it was off to the races from there!

Truly, Lane Kiffin really is the gift that just keeps on giving. No matter what, the current Florida Atlantic head coach will find his way to the forefront of the news, even if that news deals with the dang President of the United States firing one of his most important staff members.

Really, we should also thank Pat Haden and USC in 2013 for making a moment like this possible.
