LeBron James is one of the most polarizing figures in the NBA, but whether you’re a LeBron groupie or you hate the man, his reaction to a fan hitting a $75,000 half-court trick shot is guaranteed to make you smile.

Michael Drysch needed to hit a half-court shot to win $75,000 and help raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of America. When he stepped up to half-court, Michael didn’t take a traditional shot, rather he sky-hooked the shot — and he drained it. Michael had about five seconds of excitement over the shot before an ecstatic LeBron James came flying off the Heat bench and bear hugged Micheal like he had just proposed to him.

It’s probably one of the best moments of the season so far:

Drysch told reporters after the game that he had been practicing for the past two days and had only made the shot once before. He said some friends gave him some advice right before he left the arena tunnel to take the amazing shot.

“They told me to put some spin on the ball, and get it up there as high as I could,” Drysch said. “I had made that shot something like 1 percent of the time in my life.”

Dwyane Wade joked after the game that the Heat should consider signing Drysch for “late-game situations”. James’ excitement over the shot lasted well after the game, as he tweeted about the shot with the hashtags #wow and #awesomeness.

No matter how you feel about James, after seeing his gleeful reaction to a guy hitting one of the most incredible, it’s hard not to smile and forget you hate him even if it’s just for a moment.
