NBA Power Rankings: Miami Heat Soar, Clippers Reemerge

21. Toronto Raptors (22)
Another game with Rudy Gay in a Raptors’ jersey, another win. Or that’s the way it seems to go. The team is 5-2 since the lanky small forward arrived, despite his 4-21 showing against New York. Meanwhile, Andrea Bargnani is at the center of a million trade dealing rumors. A step in the right direction may have come a little too late for these Raptors, though.
22. The Washington Wizards (21)
The Wiz may have lost their only match-up of this week, but it’s becoming more and more evident that this whole Washington is better when John Wall is healthy thing, might in fact be a real thing.
23. Detroit Pistons (23)
While Andre Drummond’s injury served as a huge blow to the Pistons playoff hopes, the team may have found something great brewing between Jose Calderon and Greg Monroe. It’s only natural, considering these two are in the upper echelon of players in terms of passing/pick-and-roll IQ.
24. New Orleans Hornets (25)
The Hornets held the Blazers (read: Tankers) to 63 points the other night, winning two straight games heading into the break. The rumour mill has dabbled in a few Eric Gordon trade suggestions, but it’s been a rather quiet affair. This team will be good, eventually.
25. Cleveland Cavaliers (24)
Three straight wins. Three straight losses. Despite Kyrie Irving’s come out party (which you better be excited for) the Cavs are still amongst the worst teams in the league. So much so that Dan Gilbert took it upon himself to tweet about his defensive aspirations for the team, which is currently in the bottom five in the league in defensive efficiency.
