The first three picks of the 2013 WNBA Draft went just as we had all imagined. Baylor star Brittney Griner was the first player off the board when the Phoenix Mercury announced their decision. Shortly after, the Chicago Sky selected Elena Delle Donne from Delaware second overall, and then the Tulsa Shock were on the clock.

With the Shock on the clock, they selected Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Skylar Diggins.

Diggins is an aggressive defender that will fit in beautifully in Tulsa and she has all of the makings of a star at the next level. There is little doubt that Diggins will be able to come in from day one and be an immediate contributor on the court for Tulsa.

There are some concerns that Diggins won’t be able to hack it as a distributor of the ball in the WNBA, but we believe she will work out just fine.
