NFL Draft 2013: Winners and Losers from Day 2
By Josh Hill
Winner: San Diego Chargers
New head coach Mike McCoy is quickly putting together one of the better drafts this season. He took D.J. Fluker in the first round of the draft to protect Philip Rivers and then grabbed Keenan Allen in the third round as a deep target for Rivers to throw too. He also snagged himself Manti Te’o, who can learnt he ropes and be a Junior Seau type of spiritual leader for the Chargers moving forward. While Te’o and Allen both have their question marks, they both got graded as first-round talent which means McCoy used three different rounds to select a first round prospect. Te’o and Allen obviously have work to do, but if they pan out, this could end up being one of the best drafts we’ve ever seen from a team.
