Kobe Bryant is keeping Los Angeles Lakers fans entertained through this offseason by staying active on Twitter. Monday evening, the Black Mamba let his followers know that he will be trying his best to convince Dwight Howard to stay with the Lakers and continues to have Pau Gasol’s back.

Recent reports have said that Howard is far from a lock to re-sign with the Lakers, as he is also intrigued by the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, and will take full advantage of exploring the freedom that unrestricted free agency entails.

Bryant, who is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, acknowledged that a crucial summer is ahead for the franchise:

Kobe has always had Gasol’s back, so the fact that he will continue to make a case for Pau not to be traded this summer is really no surprise. However, the fact that Gasol is entering the final year of his contract makes him an easily movable piece, if the Lakers wish to trade him.

Still, the most interest story of the 2013 summer for the team will definitely be Howard. There a lot of things that Dwight is not entirely satisfied with when it comes to the Lakers, and he could definitely look for an easy way out and sign with a team that can put him into instant title contention.
