Upside: Bell is the man in the Steelers backfield right now. There doesn’t seem to be much competition and Coach Mike Tomlin has been searching for an everydown back. Bell has the clearest route of any rookie to serious playing time and in a solid offense that wants to run the ball. Bell was a big part of the Michigan State passing game and could emerge as a weapon in the passing game giving him more value in PPR leagues.

Downside: Bell isn’t as explosive as the other rookie runners and may not have the big-play ability of some of the other options. There really isn’t much downside here.

Verdict: Bell is the top rookie rusher on my board. I have him as a low RB2 ranked at 19th. I’d love to get him as my third back but would be ok if he was my #2 if I had a stacked team at other positions.
