Philadelphia Eagles could bite the bullet on two draft busts
By Jason Marcum
Brandon Graham still hopes to at last grow into the pass-rushing force the Eagles always hoped he would be when they traded up to snatch him with the 13th overall pick in the 2010 draft.
Graham came out of Michigan as one of the best outside pass rushers in college football. But his career in Philadelphia has been hindered by the lingering impact of a knee injury that ended his 2011 season after three games.
Graham enjoyed his best run as a pro in the final six games of 2012 when he recorded 21 solo tackles, 31 overall, four sacks, and nine quarterback hurries. His 5.5 sacks on the season tied for the team lead. He appears to be having a better preseason, but is still trying to learn how to be an NFL outside linebacker after being used as a defensive end his first three seasons.
Graham and Watkins do have one thing in common. They were both former No. 1 draft picks of the Eagles, and come cutdown day, they hope to have another thing in common: Still on the Eagles roster.
