NFL season preview, award predictions and more

NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year
Patrick Allen: Tyrann Mathieu — If he stays on the field, he could be the most talented rookie defender in the NFL.
Josh Sanchez: Jarvis Jones — Jones will start the season coming off of the bench and spelling Jason Worilds, but he should quickly earn a spot in the starting line up. Throughout the preseason, Jones showed that he would be able to quickly transition to the NFL with plenty of quarterback pressure, forced fumbles and interceptions. The rookie out of Georgia will be a terror from Day 1 and give the Steelers defense the injection of youth they need.
Mike Dyce: Tyrann Mathieu — Think he will play well in his rookie season. He is paired with former LSU teammate Patrick Peterson who is watching him and supporting him. Mathieu is focused and willing to prove his worth.
Bryan Rosa: Star Lotulelei — Wasn’t exactly thrilled with any of the prospects, but I think Star has the best season of any. Should prove to be a good anchor for the Panthers’ defense for many seasons to come.
