6. Daniel Thomas-RB-Miami Dolphins (9.3%)

In a developing situation, it was Daniel Thomas not starter Lamar Miller who got the goal line carry for the Dolphins and finished with a slightly less horrible stat line rushing for 14 yards and a touchdown on his eight carries while Miller only managed three yards on ten carries.

Miller started and played 36 snaps while Thomas played 32 and managed more fantasy points because of the touchdown. Both Miami rushers belong on your fantasy bench until one becomes the main option in the backfield. Miller is virtually universally owned and was drafted highly but Thomas could end up being the better option. He’s definitely not a pick up and start option even at a flex position, but Thomas has enough potential that he deserves a bench spot at running back where the waiver wire is usually picked fairly clean.

The Dolphins running back situation could be cleared up as soon as this Sunday when they take on the Colts who allowed 171 yards on the ground to Oakland to open the season. There aren’t many options at running back on the wire, but Thomas could be in a situation to succeed if he can claim the majority of the carries.
