3. Eddie Royal-WR-San Diego Chargers (12.8%)

Royal has an NFL-best five receiving touchdowns in the first two weeks of the season after a three-touchdown performance against the Eagles. No other receiver has more than three after the first two weeks, and Royal’s value goes deeper than just his touchdowns.

Royal caught seven passes on eight targets in week two against the Eagles finishing with 90 yards. He’s an unusual red zone target in that he’s a smaller receiver, but with Rivers rolling and the Chargers new offense focused on exploiting matchups, Royal is a valuable piece moving forward. He could have an even bigger role in the San Diego offense with Malcom Floyd sustaining a neck injury and being stretchered off. It doesn’t look like Floyd will miss lots of time, but Royal’s growing rapport with Philip Rivers is a great sign going forward.

The Chargers face the Titans’ beatable secondary week three making Royal a solid plug-and-play option even though his incredible touchdown rate is ultimately unsustainable. In PPR leagues, he’s a WR3 with serious upside and makes a nice flex option as well in week 3’s favorable matchup.
