After GTA 5 what will be next blockbuster game?

It seems that every couple of  years a new video game is released and it sets the standard for all other games to follow. There was a game that came out last week and it raised the bar to an astronomical level that will be tough to reach for quite some time.

The game is GTA 5 and in case you have been living under a rock it’s the one game that everyone wants to play. The folks at Rockstar set out to create a massive world that people would enjoy along with a great story. They have succeeded that in every aspect, as the game has surpassed $1 billion within the first three days of its release.

That’s a very significant number because most games won’t even reach that mark in their lifetime and they accomplished this in less than a week. The odd thing is that we are not even in the holiday season and the sales for the game will only improve. We probably won’t see another GTA game for at least another two or three years.

This is good because Rockstar has shown that games can be released every couple of years and still be successful.

This had be thinking, after the dust is settled what is going to be the next blockbuster game? Since we are moving to next-gen consoles there will be only a few games that have the chance to reach the success of GTA 5.

For the Xbox One, the one series that comes to mind is Halo. This game series has a loyal following and on a brand new console it definitely has the potential to be a huge hit.

For the PS4, there are a couple of games that could sell very well, but I will highlight two specific games that have a chance to set some sales records of their own. The first one is everyone’s favorite Greek hero from the popular God of War series. This game found a home on the previous gen and could be very popular on the PS4.

The other game is Uncharted from the great people at Naughty Dog. They consistently make great games for Sony and I have no doubt the next iteration will continue to impress people.

GTA 5 is the game everyone wants to play now, but that could all change once the next-gen games come out.
