On Sunday night the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels at home to force a tie-breaking game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The game was a crucial one and their playoff lives were on the line. Rangers Ballpark in Arlington was filled with 40,057 people about 9,000 short of capacity.

Second baseman Ian Kinsler though had hoped for better though.

“We’ve been to the postseason three years in a row,” Kinsler said, via ESPN Dallas. “We’re fighting for our playoff lives. I’m just a little disappointed this place wasn’t sold out and rocking.

“You can’t say it’s the Cowboys because they were on the road. The fans were chanting ‘baseball town’ and stuff like that, and we can’t sell out.”

The Rangers for the record finished with the second highest attendance in the American League this year.

That could be a different story tonight when the Rangers host the Rays in “Game 163” a tie-breaking, winner-takes-all game for a trip to the playoffs. Dallas has been buzzing about the game tonight.
