Fantasy Football 2013: Top 10 Week 5 Waiver Wire pickups
3. Rashad Jennings-RB-Oakland Raiders (0.8%)
Jennings is a great short-term add who will have some serious value for as long as Darren McFadden and Marcel Reece are sidelined. McFadden has a hamstring injury that isn’t expected to be serious but will probably cost him a week or two. His backup Marcel Reece also left Sunday’s game early after sustaining a knee injury which is likely more serious than DMC’s and is expected to cost him several weeks.
With McFadden and Reece out, Jennings looks to be in line for the majority of the work out of the backfield against the Chargers. Last week, Jennings ran for 45 yards on 14 carries and caught eight passes for another 71 yards.
He isn’t much of a big play threat and doesn’t have much long-term value once DMC and Reece return, but for a one-week plug-in he’s one of the best options on the market for this week. If you do grab him, you’ll need to monitor the Raiders backfield situation closely throughout the week.
