5. Pierre Thomas-RB-New Orleans Saints (15.5%)

It’s hard to tell who on the Saints will be fantasy stars from week-to-week, but it is clear who the main RB weapon is while Mark Ingram remains side-lined with his toe injury. Thomas stepped in last week and rushed 19 times for only 36 yards. The main source of his fantasy points on Sunday against Chicago was through the air as he hauled in nine passes for 55 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Thomas has at least four catches in every game this year and splits backfield time with Darren Sproles. The reason why Thomas is still risky is that the Saints have so many weapons that the ball and the fantasy points get spread around. I’d take Stacy over Thomas in non-PPR, but I think Thomas has greater value in PPR leagues where he has the consistent targets coming his way.

This week the undefeated Saints head to New England to take on the Patriots before their bye week. If Ingram is again sidelined, Thomas is a solid flex option. He’s definitely worth owning in PPR leagues, but also can be considered even in non-PPR as long as he gets so much of the workload.
