The St. Louis Rams and quarterback Sam Bradford tried to go deep on the first play of the game. The intended receiver was Brian Quick. What happened on the play isn’t exactly clear. I was watching a different game so didn’t see this live and only have the GIF to work off of.

There pass isn’t thrown near Quick, which means the receiver could’ve ran the wrong route, which led to the ball being thrown to a part of the field were there was no receiver. It could’ve been just grossly under thrown because he was under pressure. It also could have been tipped slightly at the line.

Nevertheless, it isn’t how the Rams wanted to start the game. Captain Munnerlyn picked it off and returned it 45 yards for the touchdown. The good news, if there is any. The Rams got the ball back right away and could even the game back up on the next drive.

They went three and out on that drive, but held the Panthers to a three and out as well and are knocking on the door.
