The bigger news here though is the injuries to Pierce and Rice, who entered the 2013 NFL season as one of the top backfield-duos in the league, but questionable play by the offensive line and a lack of big-plays by Rice has limited the Ravens ground game thus far.

Rice has been among the Ravens’ biggest disappointments this season. He is averaging 2.8 yards per carry and is on pace to finish with 553 yards rushing.

A hip injury in Week 2 slowed Rice earlier this season, but the three-time Pro Bowler believes he’s now at full strength:

"“I got my step back,” Rice told reporters before the bye. “That’s exciting for me going into the second half of the year. I get a bye week, came out with no injuries, and my legs are feeling a lot better. I’m looking forward to doing some damage.”"

The injury to Pierce is also concerning, and if he misses Sunday’s game vs the Cleveland Browns, Scott may come in and get significant playing time this week.
