8. Oakland Raiders Defense (7.6%)

I ended up taking the Raiders D last week after trying to find another option because I was hesitant to take such an unheralded group. Their coordinator’s antics aside, the Raiders D was solid again last week getting 11 points in ESPN standard scoring as they hosted the Steelers.

At home this season, the Raiders D has dominated the Redskins, Chargers, and Steelers as they welcome in the Eagles this week. Philadelphia has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses, and will most likely be without Michael Vick. With Nick Foles also hurting, it’s a realistic possibility that Matt Barkley will get the start for the Eagles. Barkley has been a disaster when he’s played taking sacks and turning the ball over. The only way Barkley is a good option is if you own the Raiders defense.

Oakland has a nice blend of experience and young talent and should be able to make some plays this week against the visiting Eagles.
